ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS DAY

Wednesday, April 25, 2001

Chesapeake College and the Tidewater Chapter MD of the International Association of Administrative ProfessionalsTM  (IAAP) (formerly Professional Secretaries International®) will be co-sponsoring “Today's Office Skills -- CEI 966” in celebration of Administrative Professionals Week (formerly Professional Secretaries Week).  The daylong program will focus on "The Power of TNT" -- Teamwork, Networking and Training.  The event will be held in Chesapeake College’s Performing Arts Center Wye Mills Campus on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Upper Shore administrative professionals are invited to join us in our annual celebration and day of professional development. As today’s (and tomorrow’s) administrative professional roles evolve and they are given increased responsibilities, this is a great opportunity for the employer to say “Thank you – for a job well done.”

Professional Secretaries Week originated in 1952 and is sponsored annually by IAAP to call attention to the contributions of administrative support staff and to promote professional excellence.  This annual observance has grown to become of the world’s largest workplace observances.

Break-out sessions focusing on the 2001 workplace will be offered allowing participants the opportunity to learn new, practical skills in managing their jobs and careers with professionalism, authority, and success.  This year's event features keynote speaker, Rita Mielke, V.P. and Chief Operating Officer of The Centreville National Bank.  During the past 15 years, Rita's unique charm and humorous ability to motivate individuals into achieving their goals has allowed her to attain public recognition for her speaking endeavors and down-to-ear approach to life -- "Impossible is an Opinion, Not a Fact."  Cost of the event is $50.00, which includes participating in three break-out sessions, continental breakfast, lunch, and course handouts.  For more information call the Upper Shore Manufacturing & Business Council at Chesapeake College 410-827-7744.
