Establishing Safe Guidelines for Return-to-Work Programs
(CEI 536)
Light-duty, return-to-work programs can be a win-win for employers and employees; however, these programs can also expose an employer to substantial liability when certain risks and employer obligations are overlooked. This course will help employers navigate the complex maze of employer obligations when developing a light-work, return-to-work program. Learn how to comply with the conflicting rules of the FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensations Acts. Proactive steps will also be discussed for legally disciplining and terminating injured workers.

Effective Benefit Strategies for Employers (CEI 537)
Learn how to design, implement, and explain benefit programs that address health care costs, disability and retirement benefits, and other supplemental and flexible benefits. This course will also cover trends in health care, work/life benefits, federal and state laws that affect benefits (e.g. Americans with Disabilities Act, Maryland’s Adoption Leave Act, COBRA) and pending legislation.

Developing and Maintaining a Business (CEI 809)
This course takes you through the basic steps in developing and maintaining a non-profit business. Topics include: Board of Directors roles and responsibilities; search and seek funding; program development and evaluation; a creative plan of action; non-profit marketing. Sessions are interactive and experiential. Participants will begin to write their own vision statement, develop a working budget, and design an implementation plan.

Group Decision-Making Through Effective Meetings (CEI 606)
