USMBC and WIB Host

Regional Annual Dinner

The Upper Shore Manufacturing & Business Council (USMBC) and the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board (WIB) will host their Annual Dinner on Friday, April 20, 2001.  The dinner will be held in the College's Performing Arts Center Lobby on the Wye Mills Campus beginning with a reception at 6:00 p.m.  Keynote Speaker for the evening will be Anirban Basu, Senior Economist for the Regional Economics Studies Institute at Towson University.  He will share his views on the "Economy and its' impact on the Upper Eastern Shore".  The program will also include project presentations from local educators participating in the "Manufacturing Education:  Partnership for Excellence", a ten week regional business/education initiative sponsored by the USMBC.

The overall goal of the USMBC is to assist organizations throughout the region in obtaining information about programs and services that may help in solving problems or addressing other needs as they relate to business, industrial and educational applications of technology -- all designed to help companies improve their competitiveness and profitability.

The Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board serves the five Upper Shore counties to help people connect to the work resources in their community and find work.  The WIB "System" serves all job seekers, incumbent workers and employers, while recognizing the diverse needs of the population in the five counties.

USMBC and WIB initiatives, in partnership with Chesapeake College and many collaborating organizations, are widely heralded and appreciated throughout the Upper Shore.   For more information about the Annual Dinner and to make reservations please contact the USMBC at (410) 827-7744.
